Story behind the photo:
This is from last year. We were getting a lot of rain, far more than typical. I think the storm dropped a couple inches rain. For an area with ~15 inches a year average, that made for a soaker. Anyway, mother passed right as the field season got busy. I'm making a last minute cross county trip since driving is cheaper. It'll suck up two weeks. New project is barely fleshed out. Field season needs to be planned more. Brain is just not in it right now. Just in the when it rains it pours kind of feeling so this dove sums it up nicely.

04 May 2026: No big update; new blog post. Taking a little break with my mother's passing. Will likely update more in the coming weeks jist as a distraction.
18 April 2026: New blog posts and some adjustments to the blog page layout. New haiku and weekly photo. Edit: added the starts of page about my time in Yellowstone NP
12 April 2026: New blog post and poem. Working on filling in content as time allows.
03 April 2026: publishing updated site layout and content. Lots more to come but wanted to get the framework up and make sure it works. Hopefully add some more content in the next few days.
02 April 2026: Formatting done on all pages. Time for the details and adding more content. Will publish soon. Yay! Also trying to include fun little easter eggs/references hidden around the site. converted old blog posts to new format.
01 April 2026: major overhaul; all new format. removal of the javascript template. rebuilding much from the ground up to keep it script free.
Now contains no preservatives! Free of additives, AI, dough conditioners, and javascript!
