Fatigue

I forgot how much a long commute adds to fatigue in a day. I recently took on a 45 min commute one way for work. The plan is to move closer eventually but right now it is not really cost effective. I spend less on rent and gas than I would moving. Sure the wear and tear on the vehicle will add up quick with that much driving but not many options right now.

This is not my first time having a commute this long. In fact, I had one of similar time length that I did for almost 10 years. I lucked out it wasn't a full work week so 3-4 days a week but still enough. Maybe because that was 10 years ago also changes the impacts but boy is this wearing me out adjusting. I am used to long, days, too. This fatigue culminated in me misspelling my name on newly printed business cards....yeah, it has been bad.

Also, I would usually do some more work related items before/after office hours to fill in some hours for the week so I could have a 3 day weekend. Now I am putting in a few hours on my Fridays (all of 3) but it still makes it an extra work day. I won't and can't complain as it is work but it has worn me out quicker than I anticipated. A few items got put on hold that shouldn't have so I will be working a little extra to get those done. Normal for getting closer to field season. I am taking a week off before we get into the brunt of the field season.
