Field season came up on me way too fast.
kept thinking I had more time to work on some things. I was wrong thinking that. I know I took the vacation to have a breather before this season started but apparently that wasn't the best idea task wise.
This past week has been interestingly busy. I have been doing far more coding mess for work than I ever thought I would. Survey 123 forms can take a hike. Overly complicated for what they are. Add in that I am working with forms built a couple years ago. Why on earth would it be easy to just edit them as is and let it be fine? Ended up having to basically rebuild one from the bottom up to make the changes I needed. Forget Ctrl C/V on the cells cause they are not in the same place n the newer forms. Still don't have the coordinate recording right but that will be this weeks project since, well, surveys start next week, too.
Sometimes I don't like inheriting work. I was just fixing a survey map made by some predecessors. It's really not that difficut to line up a route on the road on a map. Generate points for the distance between. I went to prepare a map to assign and discovered the lines are about 0.25 miles off in the middle of a field. Cut out some sections of the road turns, too. When your survey points are 0.5 miles apart that being off is a but much. A 20 mile long survey ended up being closer to 22 miles with the random field cuts. It is fixed now, so hopefully the data when it gets back on the map is a bit more accurate than before. Now I just have to get the Survey 123 form to record the coordinates properly.
Learning curves, hopefully I am not getting to old for this stuff yet.
