One day I will settle on a site format but I needed to test things out to see how I liked the workflow etc. I'll leave the current format as is but will be making changes at some point since I think it might make my pending additions more complicated to do than needed. Using the JS template has me too locked into a format with little wiggle room without breaking things accidentally. Need to be mostly set by end of March if not a little sooner as that will be field season.
As for the planned updates:
- Adding species accounts/profiles for animals of the NGP
- Adding profiles for plants
- Abiotic components of the landscape since I can't talk plants or animals without these components and they are also a major part of my job
- Photo archive for photos of the week
This will address a long standing project that I tried to start 3 years ago but never got around to. I already have a list of plants and bird species but will add others to the mix. The figure below shows my current list but it is not complete. I think if I did them all I would have ~2000 plants and ~300 birds for the list. Doing breeding/migration counts in May, I have recorded close to 200 species of birds in a single county. Small numbers compared to further south but I digress.
